Our Mission:
The mission of Riverview United Methodist Church is to make Disciples of Christ.  We believe in salvation through grace as provided by God's sacrifice of his son, Jesus Christ.  We believe the church's duty is to deliver God's word and to emulate Jesus in caring for our fellow man.  We believe a strong church is built upon each member's personal relationship with Jesus Christ and upon the relationships forged by the congregation as we spread the word of God, care for one another and grow spiritually.

Somewhere along my educational trial, I was exposed to a doctrine which radically altered my thinking.  Simply stated, this doctrine states that for every need there is a corresponding satisfaction.  No exceptions! 

For example, birds have a need to fly.  The satisfaction is that birds have wings and God provides them air through which to fly.  The same with fish.  They have a need to swim, God supplies them with gills, and water in which to swim. 

Humans have a need to love.  God made us male and female, thus creating within us sexuality and satisfying our need to love. 

Humanity has a need to live forever.  God satisfies that need by providing heaven for us.
