Reverend C. Elton Lawson
Reverend Lawson was born in South Georgia in 1933. As a young man, he served his country as a U.S. Army soldier in Korea where he lost his brother. He and his wife, Virgie, have been married since 1954. He earned his doctorate at the Emory School of Theology and has been serving God and the Church as a pastor and later, as an elder, since 1958. His 16 postings as a pastor most recently culminated in his taking on the position of Pastor of Riverview United Methodist Church in 2007. At Riverview, his old time, evangelical preaching has triggered an explosion in attendance and new members to the point of out growing the current facilities.
